From the airport, take the quick lane (dual carriageway) and follow sign posts for Funchal ER101. Leave the motorway at exit 13 at the sign for Funchal Boa Nova, Palheiro Golf. At the junction turn left, and continue straight on the ER204 road in the direction of Funchal. Pass under a small bridge, following signs to Funchal Boa Nova, continue straight ahead. Pass a church on the right-hand side and some metres further on, the entrance to the Botanical Gardens, also on the right-hand side, then continue straight on the main road. After passing a row of shops on the right and a pink house with a palm tree which seems to grow from its roof, follow the road to the right (sharp bend) and just after the bend take an immediate left into Rua da Rochinha (you will see a warning signs for heavy vehicals 3.5 tons). Continue down this road and turn left at the 2nd entrance to Travessa Manuel Alexandre, a small street in between two high walls, a school on the left and on the right with red walls is Quinta M�e dos Homens. Half way along this road you will see the large green gate of the Quinta, ring the bell on the left-hand side of the gate.
