Pilikula Nisarga Dhama is a picnic spot located in Mangalore on the Mangalore - Karkala highway. The Pilikula Nisarga Dhama project is a major eco-education and tourism development project promoted by the District Administration of Dakshina Kannada (South Canara) district.Pilikula literally means Pond of Tiger. In olden days, Tigers used to come to this pond to drink water. Therefore, this lake came to be known as Pilikula.The park is spread over an area of 370 acres comprising of a tropical forest and the enchanting Pilikula Lake. Pilikula has a huge lake and beautifully laid gardens surrounding the entire lake.
