A 4 hour drive or 1 hour flight from Brisbane transports you to an island nestled perfectly at the start of the Great Barrier Reef. Filled with beautiful untamed natural landscapes, wildlife, rainforest, lakes and endless beaches, this 152 room resort features an outdoor pool, 3 restaurants, 1 cafe, 5 bars, Natural Therapy Spa, Ranger's Tour Desk, General Store and 8 different types of meeting rooms. Take advantage of fantastic leisure facilities including 4 pools, 4WD Tours of Fraser Island, guided and self-guided walking trails, Whale cruises (Aug to Oct), Sunset Cruises (Nov-July), tennis courts and Junior Eco Ranger activities for children (available on weekends and during Australian school holidays). The resort is accessible via 4WD vehicles only.The expansive property includes lakes and waterholes, and has been designed to blend with the natural environment. The local rangers on site conduct tours and can answer questions about the native wildlife that you spot around the resort. Kingfisher caters to couples, families and kids with a plethora of activities such as night walks, camp fires, driving around the 75 mile beach, sunset drinks and fishing. Despite three restaurants, four bars, four pools, spa and even a nightclub, the resort manages to have a minimal impact on the ecosystem.
